Ceylon: Orthodox – Pekoe leaf grade. Hints of floral notes, with a depth and complexity known for the Uva region.
Location: This Ceylon is considered a High Mountain tea and it comes from either the Nuwara Eliya + Dimbula & or the Uva regions. One estate used is the Koslande which is from the Haputale Mtn. Range of Uva, is one of Sri Lanka’s finest.
Benefits: Higher in caffeine than its green or white counter parts, it is still high in the anti-oxidants. Black tea likes a higher temperature water in the plus 95+ range to be steeped for 4-5 minutes, which is usually good for one cup of tea.
